I visit dog parks regularly with Gabby and try to have relationships that are pleasant without shallowness, honest without cruelty, meaningful without mere inveterate rhetoric, amusing without needless offense, and kind without serving the cult of deceptive pleasantness.
For me, these are not reasonable goals outside of active participation in the Kingdom of God and the pursuit of His brand of right(eous)ness.
Don’t mistake the abrupt tone here for unfriendliness. It’s just am honest “welcome sign” with an honest acknowledgement that new complexities are being added everyday to “human” interaction.
